When Japanese motorcycle manufacturers appeared on the global motorcycle market around 1970, both British and Italian motorcycle manufacturers got into financial difficulties. In 1975, the Americans Chris Garville and Jim Cothermann initiated the new edition of the MV Agusta 750 S.
